Current and Recent Projects 2008/2009


Since inception Aurora has supported 25 organisations ranging from small youth clubs, to substantial companies employing 90+ staff.

Cheshire and Warrington Social Enterprise Partnership

Incorporating the partnership, this has involved drafting memorandum and articles. Consulting all key stakeholders including members and funders. Development of policies and procedures to guide the governance and decision making within the Partnership. Drafting an induction procedure for new Directors.
Drafting a three year Business Plan with financial budgets and strategic targets. Reviewing and updating the existing Communication Strategy. This included taking into account Membership needs.

Longtown Nursery Trust - Cumbria

Reviewing HR Policies and Procedures and identifying any gaps and drafting procedures to add to them. Governance Training for Trustees in particular covering the 2006 Charity Act. Undertaking Training Needs Analysis with all staff and drafting a Training Plan.

Beckermet Nursery Trust - Cumbria

Reviewing all procedures and policies and indentifying any gaps and drafting new procedures. Facilitating a Business Planning Workshop with Trustees and Staff resulting in a three year business plan with financial budgets and strategic targets.

Rossendale Trust - Cheshire

Reviewing all promotional materials and working with them to produce a three year marketing plan to underpin the business development plan. Training accounts staff in Full Cost Recovery and cost apportionment software.

Cheshire County Council

First Phase of a two phase project to set up a Community Garden Centre in a park in Macclesfield, which will train and employ adults with learning disabilities. This has involved producing an extensive Feasibility Study and Report. Consulting with all stakeholders, both within the Voluntary and Public Sector. Agreeing legal models and applying for charitable status. Drafting a five year business plan and preparing 12 funding applications totalling in the region of one million pounds to fund set up costs of £200,000.
